Cake smashing (& eating) for Sterling

I’ve mentioned it before but I love being able to be part of so many different experiences that families go through. I heard from mom Season when she wanted to book her maternity photos as well as her newborn photos. Shortly after, she gave me a call to get a cake smash photo session scheduled for her son’s first birthday. I’ve never had a client book three sessions in such a short period of time. I was truly honored!

For this cake smash, I got to work with baby Sterling. He was so cute. His photoshoot incorporated classic baby blue and silver stars.

The great thing about having a client book so many sessions at once is that I get to see baby Sterling again soon. When I do his little brother’s newborn photos, Sterling will be alongside for the experience. Sterling will officially be a big brother the next time I see him!

For now though, Sterling is celebrating his first birthday. He certainly enjoyed smashing the cake and eating it. It must have been pretty tasty for him to try to eat it right off his foot! Thankfully, that’s the type of moment I was able to capture.

It was so much fun working with Season and Sterling. I’m looking forward to seeing them both again soon.
