Emery smashes cake faster than any baby before

I first met baby Emery and her family when I did her newborn photos a year ago. I love being able to work with babies from newborn, to their six month milk bath, and then their celebratory one-year cake smash.

For Emery’s cake smash, her mom really wanted to incorporate fresh lilacs. Being based in Spokane, WA, I absolutely love lilacs and how they represent this lilac city so they were the perfect addition to this photoshoot.

Emery was a natural in front of the camera. She looks straight at the lens and even gave a slight smile. Her headband brought in the lilac colors for that perfect pop of color among the light and airy photos.

Not only was Emery great in front of the camera, she also understood exactly what she needed to do with the cake. I’ve never had any baby destroy cake faster! She really got in there and made it so fun. These photos really reflect the joy she felt.

When you’re this cute, it’s okay to be a bit messy! Emery loved her cake smash and it truly shows.
